Malus ‘Harry Baker’ is a very special variety of crab apple of spreading habit with exceptionally large, rich, flamboyant pink flowers, dark green-maroon leaves followed by large ruby red fruit with a deep pink flesh lasting into mid October. High in pectin making a superb deep red jelly.

Position: Suitable for a wide range of soil types except waterlogged sites, although they are tolerant of shade they do prefer full sun.

Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
