Overview
A medium sized conical shaped tree. Large soft pink to white flowers in April and May. Red and yellow fruits in the autumn that can last well into the winter months.
Malus ‘Evereste’ is a small variety of crab apple, broadly conical in habit. White, cup shaped flowers adorn the branches in spring followed by large, red-flushed, orange-yellow fruits which are particularly good for crab apple jelly.
Position:Â Suitable for a wide range of soil types except waterlogged sites, although they are tolerant of shade they do prefer full sun.
Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
