Overview
A lovely deciduous winter flowering shrub and regarded as one of the best ‘red’ hamamelis. It produces good-sized spider-like flowers of brick red, tinged orange, with a sweet perfume, between December and March. Excellent scarlet and orange autumn-coloured foliage. It is fairly upright in growth when young, becoming vase-shaped with maturity.
Position: Requires a cool, moist but well drained neutral to acid soil in partial shade.
Pruning:Â No regular pruning necessary. Any diseased, damaged, congested or crossing shoots. Shoots that are growing in unwanted directions can also be pruned out late winter or early spring.
