Prunus subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ is a lovely variety of ornamental cherry flowering intermittently between November and March.  Pink, semi-double flowers emerge from dark pink buds in spring and dark green foliage turns an attractive shades in autumn.

Position: They are easy to grow on almost any well drained soil, but are most successful on chalky soils, prefering a sunny position

Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
