Location:

Ashwood Nurseries is situated within South Staffordshire countryside, close to the adjoining county boundaries of Worcestershire and West Midlands. Our nearest ‘villages’, Kingswinford and Wall Heath, are just over a mile away and are both in the West Midlands.
We are located on a country lane known as ‘Ashwood Lower Lane’, approached directly off the A449, a brown tourism directional sign for Ashwood Nurseries and Tea Room is situated on the A449 for the turning into Ashwood Lower Lane.
Access into Ashwood Lower Lane can also be obtained via Doctors Lane from off the A449 or via Wall Heath, using Enville Road and The Mile Flat.

General Directions:

From ‘The Southwest’ via M5 (Northbound)
• Leave at Junction 6 (A449)
• Follow A449 northbound towards Kidderminster.
• Follow A449 through Kidderminster and continue on heading toward Wolverhampton.
• At Stourton (the junction of the A449 / A458) continue north on the A449 for about a mile and half.
• Ashwood Lower Lane will be the next turning on the left (Brown Tourism Sign to Ashwood Nurseries and Tea Room, Highgate Common).
• Ashwood Nurseries is located about one half mile down this lane, on the left hand side just past Ashwood Water Pumping Station.
• Small Car Park is on your right but Main Car Park (with parking for disabled and coaches) is 65 yards further, on your left.

From ‘The West’ (via Bridgnorth) 
• From Bridgnorth take the A458 heading for Stourbridge.
• Join with the A449 at Stourton and turn left heading for Wolverhampton.
• Ashwood Lower Lane will be the next turning on the left (Brown Tourism Sign to Ashwood Nurseries and Tea Room, Highgate Common).
• Ashwood Nurseries is located about one half mile down this lane, on the left hand side just past Ashwood Water Pumping Station.
• Small Car Park is on your right but Main Car Park (with parking for disabled and coaches) is 65 yards further, on your left.

From ‘The South’ and ‘The South East’ via M40 (Northbound)
• After joining the M40 continue northbound to connect with the M42
• Travel west (taking the signs for M5) and join with the M5 northbound.
• Continue on the M5 northbound to exit at junction 4
• Follow the signs for A491 directly into the centre of Stourbridge.
• Enter Stourbridge and follow the ring-road signs for Bridgnorth (A458)
• Follow the A458 to the junction of the A458 / A449 at Stourton.
• Turn right on to the A449 heading for Wolverhampton.
• Continue north on the A449 for about a mile and half.
• Ashwood Lower Lane will be the next turning on the left (Brown Tourism Sign to Ashwood Nurseries and Tea Room, Highgate Common).
• Ashwood Nurseries is located about one half mile down this lane, on the left hand side just past Ashwood Water Pumping Station

From ‘The East’ and ‘The North East’ (via Stourbridge)
A journey through the Birmingham conurbation is not a very direct or easy option, therefore it may be advantageous to join with the M42 and follow this around the southern perimeter of Birmingham to join up with the M5 northbound as per the directions below.
• Continue on the M5 northbound to exit at junction 4
• Follow the signs for A491 directly into the centre of Stourbridge.
• Enter Stourbridge and follow the ring-road signs for Bridgnorth (A458)
• Follow the A458 to the junction of the A458 / A449 at Stourton.
• Turn right on to the A449 heading for Wolverhampton.
• Continue north on the A449 for about a mile and half.
• Ashwood Lower Lane will be the next turning on the left (Brown Tourism Sign to Ashwood Nurseries and Tea Room, Highgate Common).
• Ashwood Nurseries is located about one half mile down this lane, on the left hand side just past Ashwood Water Pumping Station.

From ‘The East’ and ‘The North East’ (via Dudley and Kingswinford)
• Take the A461 (Dudley Bypass) following the signs to Kingswinford.
• The bypass merges into the A4101 signposted to Kingswinford.  Take the A4101, passing Russell Halls Hospital on your right.
• In Kingswinford village centre go straight over the crossroads (still along the A4101) to the junction with the A449.
• Turn left at the junction with the A449 in the direction of Kidderminster.
• After less than half a mile, past Roberts Farm Shop (on left-hand side), take a turning off to the right which is signposted to ‘Ashwood’. This is Doctor’s Lane.
• Follow this lane to the very end and at the ‘T’ junction turn left into ‘Ashwood Lower Lane’.
• Ashwood Nurseries is located a short distance along this lane on your right.
• Main Car Park (with parking for disabled and coaches) is on your right, with a smaller car park 65 yards further on your left.

From ‘The North’ via M6 (Southbound)
• Leave at junction 13 Stafford turn-off.
• Follow the A449 south heading toward Wolverhampton.
• Take the Wolverhampton Ring Road and follow the signs for Kidderminster (A449).
• Head out of Wolverhampton on the A449 and after about six miles you will pass through a small village called Himley (passing through two sets of traffic lights) and then under a railway bridge.
• Now this is where people usually get lost!  Keep travelling on the A449, taking the signs at the next roundabout for Kidderminster (don’t take the signs for Kingswinford on the A491).
• Continue on the A449 through Wall Heath and head for Kidderminster. Exit Wall Heath on the A449 and continue on for about 1 mile.
• After less than half a mile, past Roberts Farm Shop (on left-hand side), take a turning off to the right which is signposted to ‘Ashwood’. This is Doctor’s Lane.
• Follow this lane to the very end and at the ‘T’ junction turn left into ‘Ashwood Lower Lane’.
• Ashwood Nurseries is located a short distance along this lane on your right.
• Main Car Park (with parking for disabled and coaches) is on your right, with a smaller car park 65 yards further on your left.

The nearest mainline railway stations for Ashwood / Kingswinford are situated at either Wolverhampton where a taxi rank is available or Stourbridge Junction / Town (no taxi rank), approximately eight and five miles away respectively.

The nearest bus stop serving Ashwood is situated approximately one and a half mile away in Wall Heath. When travelling by public transport from either Wolverhampton of Stourbridge alight from the bus in Wall Heath and walk along Enville Road and Mile Flat, taking a left into Ashwood Lower Lane and over the Canal Marina bridge. The nursery is located a few hundred yards further along the lane on the right hand side (please note that there are no footpaths along any of these lanes so great care will be needed).
