The European verbena has a long history of use in Britain as a prized medicinal herb. It is not stricly native having been introduced to Britain in Neolithic times but it has excellent wildlife value with small flowers on long stems making it highly suitable for wildlife gardening.

All wildflowers are grown from seed on site. Seed is collected from the Wildlife Meadow here at Ashwood Nurseries when possible or from British suppliers.

Wildflowers are best planted in the spring or autumn when possible but can be planted in the summer if water can be provided.
