Lewisias

We are extremely proud that our first Gold Medal awarded at Chelsea was for our exhibit of Lewisias, which included the launch of Lewisia ‘Ashwood Carousel Hybrids’. Our acclaimed strain of Lewisia cotyledon hybrids are the result of many years of selection and hand pollination. We are also delighted to hold a National Collection of Lewisias for Plant Heritage.

Lewisia cotyledon ‘Ashwood Strain’: will give a dazzling performance in Spring, frequently produce a second flush in late summer. They come in a wide range of vibrant colours and are suitable for most garden situations.

Lewisia ‘Ashwood Carousel Hybrids’: are exclusive to Ashwood Nurseries. They are very tolerant of wet winters, are hardy to at least –10^oC, and grow perfectly well when planted on the flat. They are available in a wide range of colours from yellow, apricot and orange to salmon, pink and magenta. Produces a profusion of flowers in Spring, frequently producing a second flush in late summer.
