Overview

A superb form with deep reddish purple bark on the young growths, particularly conspicuous during the winter months. Stems break into salmon pink shoots and open to bright silvery white variegation.

Salix integra ‘Hakuro-Nishiki’ is a dwarf Japanese willow with narrow, lanceolate, creamy-pink foliage and yellow catkins in spring.  Stems are coral in autumn after leaf fall.  

Position: Tolerant of most soils especially wet positions, sun or shade.

Pruning: Hard pruning can be carried out at any time of year to promote young vigorous growth.
