Crataegus laevigata ‘Crimson Cloud’ is a small, dense and thorny semi-weeping tree with glossy dark green foliage.  A profusion of small dark red flowers with creamy centres are produced in May followed by small red fruit.  

Position: Suitable for most soil types and positions although they will tolerate shade for the best performance plant in full sun.

Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
