Overview
The best pink flowered form, and is ideal for the small garden and is slightly scented. Delicate foliage.
Robinia x slavinii ‘Hillieri’ is a small, round headed tree with dainty pinnate foliage. Highly attractive and plentiful lilac-pink flowers hang down from the branches in June. An excellent choice for a small garden.
Position:Â Suitable for a wide range of soil types, due to a shallow root system they can survive in the poorest of soils in full sun or light shade avoiding windy sites.
Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
