Prunus ‘Spire’ is a fairly upright, neat, vase shaped tree.  Young foliage emerges bronze becoming orange-red in autumn.  Single, blush-pink flowers are produced in spring.  

Position: They are easy to grow on almost any well drained soil, but are most successful on chalky soils, prefering a sunny position

Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
