‘Kidderminster’ is a dark red ‘alpine’ type Primula auricula with a golden yellow centre.

Bred here at Ashwood Nurseries and named after one of the stations on the Severn Valley Railway.

‘Alpine’ auriculas have blooms of intensely rich colour and delightful fragrance, produced from mid-March to April. They are either light or gold centred. The flower is shaded from dark to lighter at the edges. There is no farina (white meal) on the flower so it can be grown outside. We advise that specially selected named alpine Primula auriculas are best grown in pots in a cold greenhouse, but they can also be successfully grown in the garden. Please note: although we securely package each individual plant, due to their fragile nature we cannot guarantee flower stems will not be broken during transit. This does not affect the future growth of the plant.
