A collection of 6 ‘Ashwood Carousel Hybrids’ plants. An Ashwood introduction that can only be purchased from us. A great profusion of flowers from April to June and are truly weather resistant. Colours include yellow, pink, orange and magenta. Their attractive foliage is held in rosettes and, being evergreen, creates interest all the year round.

We will do our very best to ensure they are different from each other but this may not always be possible as they are seed raised. Please note that if multiple collections are ordered, duplication may be inevitable.

Due to the brittle nature of the flower stems, we are unable to guarantee that the flowers will not be broken in transit.

Lewisia ‘Ashwood Carousel Hybrids’ are exclusive to Ashwood Nurseries. Whilst they are much smaller than other Lewisias, they have a prolonged flowering period and are less demanding in their requirements. They are truly weather resistant and require little maintenance.  Their flowers are produced in great profusion from April to June, often with a second flush in late summer. They do not set seed. Their attractive evergreen foliage is held in rosettes. Height 10cm (4ins).

  • Planting: A well-drained soil or compost is essential, neutral to slightly acid if possible, with plenty of added grit. Add perlite to compost to improve drainage.
  • Aspect: Plant in a sunny, open position. Ideally should be protected from the sun during the hottest part of the day.
  • Care: Feed occasionally with a sequestered iron feed to help maintain compost acidity. Remove finished flower stalks to promote repeat flowering. Lewisias are susceptible to being overwatered. Avoid water sitting in the crown of the plant.
