Overview
A strong cultivar which grows into a small tree. Branches hold clusters of bright blue-grey needles and are very twisted, turning golden yellow in the autumn.
Height: 4-6m (13-20ft) in 10 years. Spread:Â 3-4m (10 – 13 ft)

Larix kaempferi Diane
Conifers provide gardens with structure, shape and colour to create all year-round interest. They are long lived and available in many shapes, colours, forms and easy to maintain. Taller varieties need plenty of space and are better suited to larger gardens. Heights are based on 10 years of growth. Conifers will generally double in height after another 10 years.
- Planting: Most conifers like an open, sunny spot. They will tolerate some shade but grow better in full sun. Avoid waterlogged ground.
- Fertiliser: Bonemeal can be added into the growing medium to aid root development. A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring, such as Miracle-Gro.
- Watering: Watering after planting is essential, especially in spring and summer whist the plant is settling in. Once the conifer is well established you only need to water during long, dry periods.
