Overview

An evergreen shrub with light green leaves and central dark green blotches. Light blue flowers bloom in late spring and early summer, although this plant is mainly grown for its attractive foliage. Can be grown as a stand alone shrub or trained up a wall.

Also know as ‘Zanzibar’.

  • Planting: Plant in well-drained soil with shelter from strong winds. Add Tree and Shrub Planting Feed to aid development.
  • Aspect: Ceanothus grow best in full sun.
  • Care: Trim off dead wood and old flowers in spring using sharp secateurs. Do not hard prune. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring whilst the plant is still establishing.
