Delightful purple young foliage that becomes variegated pink and white then gradually darkens in late summer. Excellent contrasted with grey or blue leaved shrubs. Pale straw yellow flowers in April.

Berberis thunbergii ‘Fireball’ is a stunning recent variety with striking red foliage forming a neat compact bush during the summer months. It makes an excellent display when in contrast with yellow or silver foliaged plants. Unusual pinkish cream flowers are produced in spring. Thrives in a deep but well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
