Berberis thunbergii ‘Golden Ring’ has rich red-purple foliage with a thin golden margin, intensifying in autumn and is excellent when contrasted with lighter coloured foliage. Pale straw yellow flowers flowers are produced in April. Useful as an informal hedge. Although tolerant of most soils and aspects, it performs best in full sun and well drained soils.
