This hellebore belongs to the Evolution Group of our award-winning Ashwood Garden Hybrids.

The Evolution Group, which is exclusive to Ashwood Nurseries, has developed as a result of hybridising our finest golden yellow hellebores and now includes shades of amber, peach and apricot, some beautifully veined or delicately spotted. Nectaries vary from golden yellow to red and some are also enhanced by a red flush.

All plants in the Evolution Group are characterised by large outward-facing blooms on strong stems, good colour on the backs and long-lasting colour retention. The foliage is healthy and robust, with the added bonus of being a distinctive yellow-green that intensifies to buttercup yellow in Autumn.

Named colour selections are already well established and include Neon, Sunrise, Sunset and Daybreak shades, but there are many new and exciting developments in the pipeline… so watch this space!

Please note that, as our plants are raised from seed, colours and shades can vary slightly from the image depicted.

Position: They prefer a sheltered position in semi-shade and a rich, moist free-draining soil.

Cultural advice: Remove old leaves in late December. Remove old faded flower stems after flowering, unless you require the seed, to encourage next year's new growth.

Full cultural instructions are sent with every order.
