Grasses
Grasses, bamboos and sedges give an extra dimension to every planting scheme, adding colour, texture, form and movement to the landscape and providing a useful foil to more flamboyant subjects. They are indispensable in the Winter garden, magical when touched by a hoar frost or sparkling in golden winter sunlight.

Grasses
Grasses are so versatile and always give an extra dimension to a planting scheme, adding colour, texture, form and movement to the landscape, with flowers and seed heads to suit all tastes. Try grasses with pale coloured flowered flowers and silver foliage subjects for a tranquil planting scheme or with brightly coloured flowers and bold foliage subjects for a more dynamic effect. Grasses can be used in prairie style planting, gravel and scree gardens, poolside planting, or in more traditional herbaceous and mixed borders, while some of the smaller varieties make good subjects for pots.
Whatever your planting style, don’t be in a hurry to cut your grasses back in autumn as they are indispensable in the winter garden, magical when touched by a hoar frost or sparkling in golden winter sunlight. If possible do come and visit us and you will find our ornamental grasses imaginatively displayed in our inspirational sales area.
Please note that all plants are subject to availability and most are seasonal.
Why not visit on one of ‘John’s Garden Open Days’ and you will see how the nursery owner John Massey has used ornamental grasses to stunning effect in his own private garden.
