Plant in an open sunny or lightly shaded spot. Prefers a moist but well-drained soil. Plant 1.5m (5ft) apart in rows 2m (6ft) apart. Soak the root-ball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.

Fruit is produced on the previous years shoots. Tie in the new shoots - these will flower and fruit in the second year. Cut away all fruiting canes after harvest and replace them with the new vigorous shoots and the most vigorous of the older ones. Cut back weak and damaged shoots in Autumn. In Spring, apply a general fertiliser.
