Paeonia cambessedesii is native to Majorca and is a compact herbaceous plant that grows from tubers, making a handsome specimen broader than it is high. It needs a very warm sheltered position in full sun in a deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained. It resents disturbance so plant in its permanent position in the border or a large rock garden.
