Muscari, or grape hyacinth as they are also known, originated in the Old World, including the Mediterranean basin, north Africa, Central Europe and Southern Asia. Colours vary from pale blue to very dark blue, almost black. Muscari are amongst the earliest garden flowers to bloom in the spring. Naturally found in woodlands and meadows, they are now also found in our garden borders, rock gardens and patio containers bringing colour and interest. Here they are discovered towering over Nicky’s snowdrops, on this classic Moorcroft shape.
