From Nordic mythology, Frejya is said to be the goddess of love, beauty and gold. Along with a chariot of cats and a boar by her side, Frejya wears an enchanted cloak of falcon feathers. Vicky felt that Frejya was a fitting name for her design of two magnificent Gyrfalcons, who both proudly parade their own silvery feather cloaks. Gyrfalcons are more typically found in Greenland and the Arctic Circle and are even spotted occasionally in northern Scotland; a favourite geographical location for Vicky. These two majestic birds reflect her adoration of their beauty and prowess, as they soar across the glacial landscape.
