Related to yellowhammers, the plump and adorable male Cirl Buntings look rather like them, but have a black throat and a yellow - greenish chest-band. Their rattling song evoke memories of warm, hazy-green hillsides near the coast in South Devon, where they breed in hedgerows on farmland. These feathered friends sit neatly here, framed in chamomile, under a fair blue sky as the sand dunes drift softly into the sea.
