Buddleja alternifolia is a relatively large deciduous shrub with graceful arching branches. Masses of slightly fragrant soft mauve flowers are produced in June. Although tolerant, it prefers a rich loamy soil in a sunny position. Extremely attractive to butterflies. Prune lightly after flowering.

Position: Tolerant but prefers a rich well drained site.

Pruning: Prune hard back in spring to pairs of buds before growth restarts.
