Aucuba japonica 'Variegata' is a shrub especially valued for its evergreen foliage, brightly spotted yellow. It produces red berries when planted with a male variety. Forming a compact rounded bush, it is tolerant even of the dense shade to be found under trees and will put up with industrial pollution.  Tolerant of most soils and aspects.
