Overview
A compost accelerator to speed up the breakdown of organic garden and household material which might otherwise degrade very slowly. Use Vitax Compost Maker to recycle grass cuttings, weeds, leaves, vegetable matter, egg shells, shredded woody materials etc. to produce rich dark compost.
Vitax Compost Maker will accelerate the natural decomposition process. In summer this may take as little as 6 weeks. With tougher plant material or in winter, the process may take 6 months or more.
When finished the compost will be a crumbly, friable mixture ideal for use around the garden, raising the soil’s organic content, improving soil workability and natural fertility.

Directions for use
NOTE: 60g (about 2oz) is approximately equal to one handful.
- Open Compost Heaps: Build a circular or rectangular heap 1 metre (3 feet) wide in the normal fashion. Add a 15cm (6inch) layer of material to be composted (grass cuttings, weeds, soft hedge clippings etc.) then sprinkle on 60g (approx 2oz) of Vitax Compost Maker. Continue to build the heap adding further Vitax Compost Maker for each 15 cm layer of compost material. While open heaps will compost successfully, Vitax Compost Maker works best if the heap is kept warm and moist by covering the top with a polythene sheet.
- Compost Bins and Plastic Sacks: Fill the compost bin or plastic sack with the material to be composted mixing in 120g (4oz) of Vitax Compost Maker whilst filling.
Store in a dry place away from children, pets and foodstuffs. Open pack carefully and avoid raising/breathing dust. Wear gloves when gardening, when handling this product and wash hands thoroughly afterwards. Reseal pack after use. Do not exceed the recommended application rates.
