Overview
A lovely self-twining evergreen climber. It is prolific in flower, bearing terminal clusters of fragrant, creamy white flowers from mid to late summer. This is one of the hardier varieties of Trachelospermum but may require some protection from very harsh winter frosts. It is both heat and cold tolerant and, unlike most Trachelospermum varieties, it will tolerate growing in shady areas. Ideal for covering large areas quickly, or troublesome shady fences.
Trachelospermum is best grown against a very warm, sunny South- or West-facing wall or fence protected from severe frosts on a free-draining fertile soil. Give it a strong framework to grow on and initially tie in the shoots as they grow. It can be lightly pruned after flowering if required. Frost-damaged shoots can be pruned out in late Spring.
