Overview

Green rosettes with narrow leaves ending at a point. Produces a profusion of small white flowers. Needs well drained gritty compost, but also perfect for troughs, rock gardens, crevice beds. Protect from intense sun in summer months.

Cultural information

Saxifrages are robust, low maintenance alpine plants that are ideal for rock gardens and alpine glasshouses. They provide excellent ground cover in sunny or part shade areas and require very little watering, which can be further improved by mulching to increase water retention and protect the roots from colder weather conditions. Saxifrages have flowering periods ranging from spring to autumn, but provide year-round interest in their evergreen foliage.
