Salix caprea ‘Pendula’ is a small, mushroom shaped tree with stiffly pendent branches.  In spring, this appealing little tree produces silvery furry catkins with gold coloured anthers and mid green leaves softly felted underneath.  A good variety for small gardens.   

Position: Tolerant of most soils especially wet positions, sun or shade.

Pruning: Thin some of the branches to encourage new growth up to a quarter of the branches can removed each year. It is advisable to carry this out during the summer as it will cut down on any risk of disease entering the pruning cuts.
