Common or garden sorrel can be grown for it’s edible leaves which has a sharp taste similar to apple. Sorrel also has wildlife benefits as the larval food plant of the Small Copper butterfly.

All wildflowers are grown from seed on site. Seed is collected from the Wildlife Meadow here at Ashwood Nurseries when possible or from British suppliers.

Wildflowers are best planted in the spring or autumn when possible but can be planted in the summer if water can be provided.
