Pruning: No regular pruning required, however shoots can be trimmed back to keep the plant in shape. Shorten side shoots back to three buds, and keep a strong framework to help produce compact growth. Any damaged, diseased or overcrowded shoots should be removed. Pruning Group 11 or 12.
Cultural information: Plant passion flowers in May/June once the threat of frosts has passed. They should be planted in a warm sheltered position away from any cold winds, and protected with fleece or moved indoors during the winter months. Plants should be kept moist during the summer months and drier in the winter months to prevent root rot. Feed with a general fertiliser in spring.
Support: Passion flowers climb using tendrils so need some light support, such as trellis or wires, for them to cling on to.
