A dwarf bamboo like shrub forming a low compact mound. Abundant unbranched stems with orange bronze flushed green leaves when young turning greener with age and bright orange red in autumn. Small white flowers in large pannicles are produced in summer. Requires a sheltered position in partial shade and a moist but well drained acid soil.
