The ‘Ashwood Medal of Honour’ vase celebrates the achievements of nursery owner John Massey, who in 2010 was awarded the Victoria Medal of Honour by the Royal Horticultural Society for his services to horticulture. John has achieved 50 consecutive RHS Gold Medals for a diverse range of specialist genera and is one of the UK’s leading experts on hepaticas, so it is no surprise that this beautiful design by Emma Bossons features the hepatica flower.

The ‘Ashwood Medal of Honour’ vase is part of  the The Circles of Life  collection, launched by Moorcroft Pottery to mark the 25 year anniversary of Hugh Edwards leadership of Moorcroft’s Pottery, which has seen the company transformed into the vibrant art and design studio that it is today. Each of the 25 designs has a special significance for Hugh and none more so than the ‘Ashwood Medal of Honour’ vase.
