Overview

A superb magnolia: stunning display of large star-shaped flowers, abundantly produced even from an early age in March and April. It is compact in habit, making it suitable for smaller gardens, eventually making a tall shrub or small tree.

Magnolia x loebneri is a cross between Magnolia stellata and Magnolia kobus, inheriting the fine attributes of both parents and is tolerant of more alkaline soils as long as plenty of organic matter is added to the planting site.

A superb magnolia: stunning display of large star-shaped flowers abundantly produced even from an early age in March and April. It is a hybrid of Magnolia kobus and Magnolia stellata, combining the best qualities of both parents.

Its compact habit makes it suitable for smaller gardens, eventually becoming a tall shrub or small tree. It performs best on a rich moist well drained soil but is tolerant of other soils, including chalk soil as long as plenty of organic matter is incorporated. Give it a spot sheltered from cold winds.
