Overview
A robust perennial forming clumps of long, narrow grass-like leaves. Tall, bright orange/red flower spikes arising from yellow buds.
- Planting:Â Prefers a fertile, free-draining soil with a higher sand content. Water well before planting and as necessary to allow the plant to establish over the first growing season.
- Aspect:Â Plant in a sunny position.
- Care:Â Remove flower spikes in autumn using sharp secateurs. Cut back dead foliage in early spring after worst of winter weather has passed to promote new growth. Divide as necessary in early spring.
