A very old Japanese variety, often seen in their old paintings. Â Flowers in June, white flowers with few ray florets which age to pink. Â Upright growth with reddish foliage and stems later in the season.
Position:Â They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. For the best blue blooms plant in acid soil and encorporate hydrangea colourant.Â
Maintenance:Â Little pruning required just simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
