Overview

A medium sized deciduous shrub with rich deep pink-red mophead blooms when grown in neutral to alkaline soils. Flowers in summer and can be stubborn to change to blue on acidic soils but will change to deep violet-pink and loose its brightness. Its sturdy structure makes it good for pots and tubs. May or may not be in flower when delivered.

A deciduous shrub of a compact habit. Rosy-red mophead blooms, produced in summer. Its sturdy structure makes it good for pots and tubs.

Position: They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. 

Maintenance: Mophead hydrangeas require little pruning, simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
