Overview

A medium sized deciduous shrub producing frilly lacecap blooms edged with deep purple-blue above dark purple tinged green foliage, when grown in acidic soils. Flowers deepen in colour during summer as they age and may change to pink/mauve shades when grown on neutral to alkaline soils.

This bold bicoloured hydrangea producing frilly lacecap blooms edged with deep purple-blue above dark purple tinged green foliage in summer. 

Position: They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. 

Maintenance:  Lacecap hydrangeas require little pruning, simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
