One of the best blue mophead varieties, producing deep royal blue blooms when grown in naturally acidic conditions. Flower colour can vary according to soil type and will turn purple-mauve on neutral soil and pink-mauve on alkaline soil. Supplied as blue.

One of the best blue mophead varieties, producing deep royal blue blooms when grown in naturally acidic conditions. Flower colour can vary according to soil type and will turn purple-mauve on neutral soil and pink-mauve on alkaline soil. 

Position: They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. For the best clear blue blooms plant in acid soil and encorporate hydrangea colourant.

Maintenance: Mophead hydrangeas require little pruning, simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
