The white flowers, appearing before the leaves unfurl during February and March. Deciduous, round-lobed leaves, faintly marbled, covered in fine hairs on the upper surface. A deciduous perennial, short rhizome with dense fibrous roots. Height 6-12cm

We recommend you grow Hepatica asiatica (white) in the protected environment of an alpine house or poly-tunnel. If grown outside the Asiatic hepaticas require an extremely sheltered position . Plant on a cool, well-drained slope in a light ‘fluffy’ soil rich in leaf mould. It is essential that they are exposed to early spring sunshine, but they must receive plenty of shade immediately after flowering and especially during the heat of the summer.           Â
