Overview
A profusion of vivid orange flowers displayed against attractive green foliage.
Helianthemums are wonderful plants for a sunny rock garden or the front of a small mixed border, producing a mass of flowers over a long period in early summer and often with a second flush in September. They are also useful as ground cover and will grow on steep banks as long as their cultural requirements are met. Give them a free-draining soil in full sun and they will be happy! They are mat-forming, semi-woody evergreen perennials that benefit from trimming after flowering to maintain a good bushy shape, trimming hard again in early spring if necessary.
