Overview
A free- flowering small deciduous shrub with graceful arching stems, producing numerous small scarlet and deep purple single flowers against mid green leaves from early summer to first frost in autumn. This is an exceptionally hardy fuchsia and, in sheltered areas, can be used to make an attractive informal hedge.
Position: Requires a rich well drained soil with plenty of moisture during the growing season. Plant in full sun or partial shade where they can be treated as summer bedding or as a hardy shrub, in which case plant early in the season protect for the first winter with a thick mulch on surface but not directly around the stem.Â
Pruning: Prune hard back in spring (after the frosts have passed) to promote new growth.
