Overview
Maroon and green mottled leaves set off the profusion of elegant creamy white flowers with a yellow eye. Flowers are produced from March through April. This will clump up well and seed around the garden.
Erythroniums are beautiful early Spring-flowering woodland plants that grow from bulbs. They thrive in the cool shade of deciduous trees or shrubs on a good deep loamy soil that is moist but free-draining. They will tolerate sandy or clay soils if plenty of organic matter is added to a good depth. They are dormant from early summer onwards so it’s a good idea to mark where they are planted.
