Overview
‘Bacchanal’ is a spreading rhizomatous perennial with finely divided grey-green leaves and short racemes of nodding, deep crimson flowers from April to September.
Bleedinghearts are one of the most well known and popular perennials.  Forming a bushy, upright mound of fern like foliage. with dangling delicate heart shaped flowes flowers  on arching stems, in late spring. Ideally suited to a rich, moist soil with partial shade. plant them under deciduous shrubs and trees to give them protection from direct summer sun but allowing plenty of light as they burst through the ground from winter hibernation. Cut back after flowering to keep strong vigorous plants before they die back to ground level in mid summer.
