Overview

A delightful shrub, small and rounded in shape, with glossy evergreen leaves and clusters of yellow-green, sweetly scented flowers in April and May; these are usually followed by black berries, adding to its interest. An invaluable shrub for deep cool shade.

Enjoys a sheltered position in partial shade and is tolerant of deep shade. Give it a humus-rich, well-drained soil in neutral or sightly acid conditions. An annual mulch of leaf mould or similar will help to keep the roots cool. Find it a permanent postion as it resents root disturbance once planted.

Please ensure that you have the correct cultural requirements for this plant and be aware that daphnes are not suitable for patio pots.
