Overview

This first-rate daphne is one of the most reliably hardy clones of Daphne odora. The evergreen leaves have creamy white margins and are very attractive. Its sweetly scented flowers, produced in March, are rose purple in bud opening to white. Open bushy habit as broad as it is high.

There are two main criteria that are essential to the successful cultivation of daphnes in the garden: careful watering in their early years and a sharply-drained, well-aerated soil which is moisture retentive. Shelter from cold winds, and protect from hard frosts.

Enjoys a sheltered sunny position, but best out of very hot sun .Give it a humus rich soil and avoid very alkaline conditions.

Please ensure that you can provide the correct cultural requirements for this plant and be aware that daphnes are not suitable for patio pots.
