Overview
‘Edda’ is a compact deciduous climber, ideal for containers and patios. It produces deep blue-purple flowers with a reddish midrib and purple/white anthers. Flowers in late spring and again into early autumn.
Pruning group 2 is suggested for this variety to encourage earlier flowering on older stems, however pruning group 3 is also an option for easier maintenance.

Clematis Edda
- Planting: Clematis prefer deep, rich soil that remains moist but well-drained. They require a sunny position, with their roots in the shade of other plants. Keep it well watered during its first Spring and Summer.
- Pruning Group 2: Cut back to the framework of old wood in February, leaving shoots with healthy buds. Prune again after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second flush. Cut back to large buds or strong side shoots.
- Care: Rootgrow (beneficial mycorrhizal beneficial fungi) sprinkled on the roots prior to planting will aid root development. Clematis are hungry plants and benefit from regular feeding with Vitax Clematis Feed.
- Support: Requires a framework to grow on such as a trellis, obelisk or a pergola. Tie in young shoots using a soft tie such as Flexi-tie.
