Overview
A beautiful variety with fully double rosette flowers. Tepals are a very pale lilac blue with pointed tips, fading to a silvery grey soon after opening. Filaments are white with creamy yellow anthers. Flowers in May/June and again in August/September, producing double flowers each time. This variety can be quite delicate, so needs to be grown in a sunny but sheltered position to protect the stems and flowers.
Clematis Belle of Woking
- Planting: Clematis prefer deep, rich soil that remains moist but well-drained. They require a sunny position, with their roots in the shade of other plants. Keep it well watered during its first Spring and Summer.
- Pruning Group 2: Cut back to the framework of old wood in February, leaving shoots with healthy buds. Prune again after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second flush. Cut back to large buds or strong side shoots.
- Care: Rootgrow (beneficial mycorrhizal beneficial fungi) sprinkled on the roots prior to planting will aid root development. Clematis are hungry plants and benefit from regular feeding with Vitax Clematis Feed.
- Support: Requires a framework to grow on such as a trellis, obelisk or a pergola. Tie in young shoots using a soft tie such as Flexi-tie.
