Overview

‘Indian Summer’ produces terminal clusters of yellow-orange, trumpet-shaped flowers from late summer into autumn. Well suited to a sunny position, either planted in the ground or in a pot, but will need some basic support until it is well established. Good drought tolerance once fully established.

  • Planting: Campsis can be grown in pots or in the ground. Plant in well drained soil or using multi-purpose compost for containers.
  • Aspect: To guarantee hardiness, grow against a sunny south-facing wall.
  • Care: Tie in new growth to plant support. Prune side shoots back to 3 or 4 buds of the main framework using sharp secateurs. This helps produce a compact growing habit and encourage flower growth on shortened shoots. Add Sulphate of Potash to container plants to help promote flowers.
